USED
CLOSE UPS
INCEPTION
In the film inception, the close ups represent important parts of the film that they want the audience to remember. We used this on the bottle of the chemical that could wipe out the human race and the bottle comes up more that once throughout the film.
The close up on the hand in 'chemical reaction' adds a variety of shots for the audience to see, ass does inception. It also adds to the fast paced sequence.
CONTRAST OF GOOD AND EVIL
EVIL
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II GOOD
In the film Mission impossible there's a contrast of the good characters and the evil characters and therefor makes the good characters look more heroic and the bad look even more dangerous. This is important for our media product because of the division of good and evil and the screenshots show Mr Bennett, the evil scientist in contrast to the three heroes. As an opening scene we have jump cuts from on to the other to emphasize the contrast between them as closely as possible. EVIL GOOD

DEVELOPED
I AM LEGEND

We used the developing of the chemical to represent the way that it keeps popping up throughout the film. The audience will be constantly looking for the chemical as we were in 'I am Legend'

The Bourne films show action packed scenes that make the audience see how far this hero would go to save others lives. We wanted to use this in our film to get the audience on the edges of their seats and we built up suspense in doing it.
CHALLENGED
CONTAGION

Our title was purposely shown at the end of the opening, after the credits as was contagions, because it finishes the beginning part and the film goes on to explain how this all started. It works effectively because the films name comes afterwards and reminds the audience what they are watching and it fits in with the chemical bottle that has just been shown.
THE RESIDENT
The resident uses low key lighting to hide the villein from the victim and therefor the audience is always looking for the villein to jump out. We used high key lighting to show the time of day the film was set and proceeds into night time later on in the film.

Question Four
Jack is a 24 year old office worker from London. Every Friday , he and his mates go out to Leigster Square to watch a film. They enjoy thrillers and more fast paced, action packed films. They watch films from Inception to The Bourne films. They have DVD box sets of these kinds of films in the flat they have shared since they left Uni.They buy Blue Ray films because its higher quality and they work hard for luxuries like this. This ideal because chemical reaction can be bought on Blue Ray and there are many people of these types of ages that like to buy these types of films. They like Bourne films is because it is about a amnesiac who must discover who he is and why several groups, including an assassin and the CIA are trying to kill him. Its a mystery and Ben and his friends enjoy this. In the opening scene of 'Chemical-reaction' the protagonist is unclear and therefor the mystery starts straight away as not knowing what the rest of the film is going to be about. Jack and his friends like the car chases and fighting scenes in thriller films also and this add to the fact that this is just his kind of film. Our audience research shows that the many men between 18 and 40 like these kinds of films and they almost associate their lives with these types of scenarios and imagine themselves as the team. This is good because the characters in 'Chemical-reaction' are ordinary people and therefor it matches what they like in a film.
Question Five
Question 6
This is me using and setting up the tripod, making it stable and level with the extending legs. This was incredibly important when filming 'chemical reaction because on particular parts, we filmed in such places as a crop filed and the ground wasn't level.
This is me recording with the camera.
It was important to save all of our once after a days filming and keep the battery up as we found out in filming we were drastically low on battery and we were lucky enough to have a computer nearby to charge the camera up with.
This is me using the Mac. I used such programes as 'Final cut express','Photo shop' and I used 'YouTube', 'Facebook' 'Blogger', 'Prezzi', and 'Wiki' to create mind maps, story boards and posting.
The programs I used were easy to use and a clear way to show what needed to get done next and planning overall.
Question 7
We were unable to upload this to youtube, so we couldn't make any annotations, but we will be using screen shots to show what bit we felt we have improved on during our time of filming in our final piece.
Shot 1

This opening shot on our preliminary is very shaky, this because we didn't use a tripod, but in our actual piece we used it in some parts to keep it steady in places that are meant to be still.
We have also learnt that it is very unprofessional to not use a tri pod because it is very bouncy and the audiences do not always like this because it can make you feel ill.
Shot 2
Looking back at this piece we feel that our matched cuts are far better now from what they were before from this piece. As you can see it is a bit late on opening the doors. We have learnt that the timing in matched cuts are crucial for it to be effective.Shot 3
In this point of view shot we were hoping it to be bouncy, but the timing was all wrong, however, we feel that we have improved on our different shots in time very well, take our P.O.V shot in the van in our ending product.
Shot 4
Again this shot was shaky because we didn't use the tri pod, which can ruin the film.
Also our Mise En Scene wasn't very good because for half of our film, there is an alarm going off, and the other half, there wasn't. In our final product we think that we chose our Mise En Scene a lot better, even though there were some mistakes, but overall, we planned it a lot better.
Shot 5

This shot is too long for the audience, we have learnt that you cannot have a long shot in a film because the audience will get bored. We learnt in our final piece that a shot that was too long, made our film seem to go on for quite a while and the audience would get bored. So on our editing day we managed to cut it down a fair bit and add extras into this particular shot which made it seem that more was going.
Shot 6
We learnt that the framing of a shot is very important. The character has to be in the middle of the shot because if they are not then the shot looks akward and unusual. We think we had a very good shot of framing it just right in our end piece, where Ollie is taking a sample of the chemical and Mr Bennett in sight but in another room.
Our planning overall in contrast between our preliminary and final piece, has improved a lot, we were very well planned for our storyboard, filming dates. especially when the unexpected snow came along, we felt we dealt with it well. It was just a shame that the planning didn't go as well towards the end of the deadline.
We found that our research into the genre of the types of thrillers for our storyboard went quite well, our planning for it was very successful, we got our results very quickly and were able to choose a genre easily. Our preliminary helped us a lot, we decided to stick to a similar line to what our practice task was for our final. so our initial idea was already out there for us to use, all we had to do was to develop it even more.
Filming was the most fun in this task, and one that we thought went reasonably well, we planned it all out very well. We got Mr Bennett's permission, to use the chemical equipment and asked if he would take part in the film. this was all in good time, we also planned to use Lily's Dad's van all in good time and managed to get permission for the sports hall. It was difficult to do anymore filming becasue of the sudden snowy weather we had, so we decided to get rid of some shots because we simply couldn't film anymore.
Throughout this whole task our confidence in the equipment we used has definately developed, especially on our editing day. Our skills on Final Cut improved a fair amount, also our skills on youtube, especially on the annotating side.
